The clock is ticking! Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and I KNOW there are still a few guys out there looking for a creative way to spend the holiday and prove they didn’t wait until the last minute to pick up chocolates and a rose at the gas station on the way home.
Here are a few events I found in DFW for Valentine’s Day and the weekend leading up (don’t worry, it’s not Superbowl weekend).
Dallas Arboretum- Through Feb. 24th. With the unseasonably warm weather, the Arboretum is a great way to take advantage of the 5$ admission through the month of February, but enjoy the extra perk of of the Bellatrino Pizza Truck on February 14th. Visit http://www.dallasarboretum.org/ for more information.
Klyde Warren Park- February 11th. A Family friendly Valentines Day Event with activities like dance lessons, movie screenings, and a puppy kissing booth!!
Really into the 80’s?? Really into dancing? Then the Double Wide has just the party for you! The annual 80’s Valentines Day Prom is on February 11th at 8pm. Don’t forget the hairspray and acid washed jeans.
Central Market Cooking Class- February 11th. Chocolate themed! Bring home treats to share with your hunny after learning how to make a variety of different Valentine desserts. Hurry though! These classes fill up fast.
Reunion Tower- The ever so iconic spinning ball in the Dallas skyline. Is there a more cliché date in Dallas? Yes! The Valentines Day “Love is in the Air” Package ( champagne flute and photo included) Check the website for availability.
Anti- Cupid? I have the perfect plans for you. The Cutting Edge in Fort Worth and the Dark Hour in Plano open their doors to those who wish to spend the holiday in a little less traditional way. February 11th and 14th.
Take your date to a Killer Dinner! The Omni Park West is hosting a Murder Mystery Dinner on February 11th. See if you can solve the plot!
Fort Worth Zoo Valentine’s Dinner- Who wouldn’t love to dine with the animals! Love Bird package includes dinner, drinks and a meet and greet with the Zoo’s outreach animal. (awwww)
Dallas by Chocolate- For the chocolate lover in your life; enjoy a guided tour through Dallas to find the best chocolate treats.
For those who like it old school, The Granada is hosting an event with covers of classic romance songs and a screening of Casablanca. Concert starts at 7 on Valentine’s Day. Keep it classy!
Flowers are always nice, (if a girl says she doesn’t like them, she’s lying) but it’s always fun to get creative with your plans. These are only a few of the events going on around DFW, to find out more about what is available in your area, visit your city’s local calendar of events.
