If practice makes perfect, preparation makes you a home owner. So many people are still unaware of the process of homeownership, so we are extending last week’s segment and picking up on the next two key steps to homeownership. (For a recap,see previous blog.)
1.) Finding your new home, after finding a great realtor and getting pre-qualified, you will then be able to choose your desired location/area, size of home, amount of rooms, home features, etc. This is all based on how much you have been pre-qualified for. The search begins, homes are sent to you by your realtor, you view them, and you prepare to make an offer. 2.) Making an offer on a home. This is where things get quite competitive, other people will be interested in the home. That means other potentials will be willing to bid against and above you; depending on how much you love the property, you will be doing some rolling up of your sleeves as well. It’s time to get creative, this hugely relies on your realtor’s savviness on how appealing they can present your offer. Then the wait begins, will they choose your offer or not, get ready to be on standby for the next 24-72 hours. Be patient, if this home is meant for you, just like love, no one can take it away!
