The Need To Know About Current Fort Worth Developments

So, what exactly is all this excitement that's happening around FW about?

As they say, everything is bigger in Texas. That stands true for the current landscape of the Fort Worth development scene. Right now, there are major  projects in the works across the city that will bring new mixed-use developments to Fort Worthians. I have been following these projects over the past few years and wanted to share the skinny what's to come for each.


Located off Chisholm Trail and Edwards Ranch Road, the Clearfork development is an expansive project that features retail, dining, commercial and residential businesses. With easy access to the Trinity, this area offers fitness and active lifestyle activities through partnerships with local community partners. If you haven't already tried Press Cafe, make that next on your list to try. Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop can be you go to for all of your cycling needs. "The Shops at Clearfork, opening in 2017, will be an upscale, mixed-use development in the heart of the city. Here along the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, an inspired mix of retail, entertainment, residences and offices will blend with expanses of natural green space and direct access to the Trinity Trails system. The Shops at Clearfork will feature a carefully orchestrated mix of luxury retail,restaurants and entertainment from a blend of national, regional and local brands." Neiman Marcus will be making the move from Ridgmar Mall to Clearkfork in the spring to serve as the anchor for this upscale shopping oasis. The Kelton apartments are available for lease now and give residents a wide array of amenities. Also, don't forget about The Heart of the Ranch entertainment venue. This outdoor venue sits right on the bank of the Trinity and is a vibrant outdoor space that's ready for your next event. 


The River District

This development is taking an underutilized area in West Fort Worth and giving it new purpose. Right off White Settlement Road and the Trinity, The River District's goal is to embrace the natural beauty of our city while using the natural resources offered by the area to create a vibrant area for people to enjoy. The River District will focus on entertainment and dining options that give people a great place to socialize and live. 

Residential options include single family residences, townhouses and apartments. This area is a beautiful hidden gem for me. I see this area becoming a thriving community in and of itself that will give a fresh approach to development.

Conveniently located off Bryant Irving and Arborlawn, Waterside is a large development offering big names and specialty local spots. With convenient access to the Trinity Trails, this retail and dining hot-spot is sure to bring the masses together for some retail therapy and great culinary indulgences. REI was the first major retailer to open up shop with many more to follow. Zoe's Kitchen, Whole Foods, Cyclebar, Sur La Table and Amazing Lash Studio are just some of the many retailers and restaurants coming soon.

The Left Bank

"Left Bank is a 1.5 million square foot mixed use development in the heart of the thriving West 7th Street Urban Village of Fort Worth. Bridging the Central Business District and the Cultural Arts District, West 7th has become one of the most popular areas to live, work and play. This pedestrian friendly area is situated among numerous world famous museums, specialty retail, restaurants and urban nightlife.

The Left Bank development will boast the area’s first urban grocer, high-end specialty retail and best-in-class restaurants, along with 1,500 high-end residential units, a full-service national brand hotel, premier office space and a park. The Left Bank will be a mixed-use development unlike any other; offering residents and shoppers a contemporary lifestyle development on the scenic waterfront of the Trinity River, complete with a 30-mile hike and bike trail."

Tom Thumb will be opening a new urban concept store that will be the anchor for this project.

You have probably driven by this development 100 times. I have been curious to see what would happen with this area for the past few years. Just south of I-30 and you are headed down University, WestBend sits right behind Silver Fox, Zoe's Kitchen and East Hampton Sandwich company. This development is now really taking form with the up-and-running Tyler's and several more tenants moving in soon. Personally, I am most excited for HG Sply Co. to open their doors. HG Sply Co. has created quite a name for themselves through their Dallas location on Greenville Ave. Their menu focuses on nutrient food that is not only good for you, but good to your taste buds as well.
